OFFERING ONLINE SOMATIC THERAPY FOR ADULTS, TEENS, COUPLES, AND FAMILIES
Hi! My name is Brenna Barry (she/her) and I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
I see therapy as a component to thriving in today’s often chaotic world. I rely heavily on my expertise as a seasoned yoga, meditation, and breathwork instructor. As a somatic therapist, I weave together modalities such as Somatic IFS (Internal Family Systems), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Theory, and Art Therapy as a way to better support you.
I am a compassionate listener, and I have a grounded, warm presence.
I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and I also draw heavily upon my time volunteering on the suicide prevention hotline. I have experience working with survivors of sexual trauma, helping to gently restore a sense of safety, agency, and connection to the body.
IN OUR WORK TOGETHER, YOU CAN EXPECT TO FEEL SUPPORTED IN YOUR JOURNEY TO SELF-DISCOVERY
We will talk, use art, movement, visualization, meditation, and breathing exercises along the way.
Using a relational approach, we will first establish a sense of safety.
In addition to the impact of our early relationships, our identity, culture, and social dynamics influence our biggest relationship: the one we have with ourselves.
As your therapist, I will be able to help you strengthen the relationship you have with yourself.
hELPING YOU FIND NEW WAYS TO THRIVE
Sometimes we tend to intellectualize, but the body is proficient at remembering everything that happens in life. While it can sometimes seem mysterious, I am here to help you decode and process what has left its mark in your body so that you can grow and expand into the version of yourself you were meant to be.
SUPPORTING THOSE WITH ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND GRIEF
As someone who suffers from anxiety myself, I can share many tangible tools. However, everyone is different. We will investigate what methods are right for you. I have found that this is where Somatic Therapy can be incredibly useful.
By focusing on how to reconnect with the body, we can break the vicious hold the mind can often wield. I have a deep well of empathy and can sit with incredible amounts of heaviness and pain. You will not be alone in navigating these waters. Together, we will find ways to manage depression, using the therapeutic relationship and discovering what methods will cultivate hope for you.
In a culture that struggles to even acknowledge grief, it can be a profoundly isolating experience. Whether it’s ambiguous loss or the death of a loved one, grief can seemingly consume everything. We will seek ways to lessen the pain and remember the other side of grief: love ❤️.
sUPPORTING THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I provide an affirming, compassionate space where clients can explore identity, relationships, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, stress, and the unique experiences that come with navigating the world as an LGBTQ+ person. Through somatic therapy, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation techniques, I support clients in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of safety within themselves.
HELPING COUPLES THROUGH CHALLENGING TIMES
I have witnessed the beautiful potential for not only healing within a relationship but also for individual healing within a partnership. As a couples therapist, I help partners strengthen their connection by creating a safe, supportive space where both individuals feel heard, understood, and valued.
My approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Attachment Theory to help couples identify and interrupt negative relationship patterns, deepen emotional intimacy, and build lasting trust.
Together, we explore how past experiences and attachment needs influence present-day interactions, while developing practical communication and conflict-resolution skills that foster resilience and connection. Whether you're navigating recurring conflicts, rebuilding after betrayal, or seeking to strengthen an already healthy relationship, I work collaboratively with you to create a more secure, fulfilling partnership grounded in empathy, authenticity, and emotional connection.
